Homework
I know that most of you don't have to worry about this anymore, but there is this feeling you get when you finish your homework. It's not really happiness, it's relief and anticipation. For me, it used to be dread and anticipation because I never really applied myself. But this time around I feel like a freaking genius and all of my homework is top notch!!! I only wish.

Cat-like Temperament

Cooper will be 2 years old on Saturday. I just can't believe it. It went by so fast, like they all say. He just has all this energy and sass, but I guess that is what happens when they are 2. He's getting a little boys face and everything. I find bruises on him all the time and I wonder, "hmm... what did I miss?" He plays hard and loves it. He is a little bundle of energy. My little ping pong machine every day. I'm serious, he will run back and forth all day long.
He has a "cat-like" temperament. By this I mean, he isn't hysterical when you leave or come home. He doesn't like to cuddle very often. He knows you are there, but likes to do things himself. He doesn't like to be held for too long. He licks the back of his hands constantly, and he lays on the back of the couch. (He doesn't really lick his hands, gross)
Its just weird to think that I have a little person who means more to me than anything in the world. Who would've thought? And the adorable way he says... "MaaMaaa..." with an annoyed undertone, well it gets me every time!

Are you a morning person or a night person?
Everyone asks this annoying questions and I always answer, if I get enough sleep than I can be either a morning or a night person. HOWEVER... if I don't get enough sleep, or I feel like I have to wake up and rush for something... I am definately NOT a morning person.
For instance, right now I should be getting ready for my huge day of Tupperware, but I am so tired, my allergies are killing me, I just don't feel like it. This is not a "morning person" day!
Thanks for understanding. Oh and if you see me today, don't talk to me... Just kidding, I'll calm down after a large chai!

Write what's on your mind.
I think blogging is kind of fun. I think we send something out there that we are thinking and we just really really want a comment or response from someone that can help, or relate. It's a fun way to keep in touch with those that you might now keep in that close of touch with. And it also gives me something to do when Sesame Street is on for the 4th time in the morning.

Long distance Friendships
Did you ever imagine that you would be right where you thought you would be when you got to this age? Did you ever think when you were young that you wanted to live in the same small town you grew up in, your family still lives in, and raise your children there? Well, I always did. I was always the one that wanted to stay put and be right where I felt like I was most comfortable.
Of course I understand those who choose to leave and "Get out" of their small towns. I have several friends who have done that, my bestfriends actually. They have traveled all over and seen and done things that I couldn't dream of doing. They are where they are because that is right for them. We are all where we are supposed to be, doing what we are supposed to be doing.
One is the most adventurous and curious person. She loves to challenge herself to new things and new places. And the other is the most independent person. She is completely loyal, but completely content with being her. I am not adventurous or curious enough. I don't choose to live that independent, free spirited life. I am completely loyal and loving towards those who I share my life with.
We make a great team. I dedicate this to you... you know who you are... you are the only one that reads my blog...

Daddy's Boy
Cooper is such a Daddy's boy! He loves his Daddy so much. He always has a hug and kiss for Nate. He jumps when he sees him and he bawls when he misses him. These are things that I don't always get to experience from Cooper but I will just chalk that up to him being with me constantly.
It makes me very proud to think that Cooper will grow up to be just like Nate. I married a very good person, and I hope to raise one as well. To be honest, humble, kind, passionate, and have a great personality. These are things that I can only hope that Cooper will have and be.
I love my boys.

You know you can't fly a kite when...
Being in a competitive relationship has its struggles, but it can be really really fun. Nate and I have been together for a million years and we still compete over who can accomplish things faster, or better. The competitive feelings are only on the little things... nothing like parenting or relationships or anything like that. This is stuff like: who makes better scrabbled eggs? (nate) Who is the better driver? (me)
Who is better at flying a kite? That is the issue today. We recently got a "Cars" kite to send with Cooper to grandma's because he is always hoping for new adventures. Nate tried to set it up and it just wasn't working correctly, so I jump in and fix it. (It's a woman thing) It makes me wonder, did he fly many kites as a kid? I know I didn't. Anyhoo, I finally got the kite flying, Nate took over and was letting the string out... low and behold, he just couldn't keep the air underneath it long enough and it is currently residing in my neighbor's tree. Cooper will look out the front window saying... "Lightning Down!" "'mere Lightning!"
It still makes me chuckle thinking about it. But it's those types of things that can make our relationship funny. Nate is a great sport about things like that (I am not) so it's better when he is proven wrong because I don't take it as well.

Easter
Holidays have really shifted in the last couple of years for us. I come from a family that celebrates every holiday with both sides of the family. Nate and I have come accustomed to having 6 christmases in two days for the past 9 years. Now in the last year both of my sides of the family have started to slow down a little. Both my Mom and my Dad's sides are deciding to take a break from big gatherings. I know part of the reason is because we are all getting older and busier, but it is a strange transition. I love the busy schedule of the holidays. I love being able to see all my aunts and uncles and grandparents and their families. Now is the time that I feel I want to share the most with them because I want Cooper to have that same relationship with them.
I do know that these are not the main reasons for the holidays, however, they are a big part of my reasons for celebrating. I have never really been one to transition well or accept change easily, so this is just another step towards my own growth. I feel that maybe this new trend will help me develop my own traditions for my family and reenergize my own beliefs toward the real reasons for the holidays.
