Play Dates

We have been doing a lot of play dates lately and I have to say, they are really fun.  The kids have such a great time together and it gives me a break from having to constantly be entertaining to a rambunctious 2 year old.  This week we played with Rylee, Emily, and Dylinn.  All of them are very different as well as all girls.  Cooper likes to play with boys better I think because they have more energy and they run around a lot more.  The girls just seem to watch him play and look at him like he's crazy.  It's the same way I feel everyday!

Side note:  He got a "time-out" today because he heard mommy say that someone left the front door open so he didn't hesitate to go and sneak out into the front yard!  He was in big trouble and had to sit on the naughty chair until he said he was sorry to mommy.  Where do they learn this stuff???

Minnesota zoo

Yesterday we spent the day at the Minnesota Zoo with friends.  Cooper and Emily were partners in crime most of the day and they had a great time.  We spent 4 hours walking around the zoo with two toddlers on one of the busiest friday's the zoo probably has!  Just imagine, pulling into the parking lot and seeing 25 school buses in the parking lot and thinking... we are coming to the zoo on one of the last fridays of school for kids and it's in the beginning of the day!  There were hundreds of little kids there!  It was crazy, but fun.

Emily and Cooper were Pig riders!

And turtle riders.

And finally...
Sleepers!

Wet Paint

This is what happens to toddlers when they are being watched by 4 adults outside with a paint try 5 feet from them... He really didn't like having the paint on his hands.

Online shopping

I have never online shopped for myself.  I was looking at Old Navy and Gap today online, and I just really wanted to point and click at several different things that I saw.  Isn't that bad?  Do any of you online shop?  I think if I started, I could be in big trouble.

Victory 44

So we went to Victory 44 last night and had an amazing time!  The food was really unique compared to places that we normally eat and it was amazing!  The restaurant was really cute and very comfortable.  We felt right at home with unfamiliar food and everything.  Its always great to see your friends doing well and being happy.  Sondra and her family are doing just that.  We had a great time and can't wait to go again.  I am excited to try something different.

Hair Cut

Ok, so I am obsessed with Cooper's hair!  Some parents just don't want to cut their kids hair because it's his baby hair and what not... not me!  I can't stand it when it gets long and it starts to creep around his ears... It drives me nuts!!  I've cut it several times in the past, he hates it!  So tonight I bribed him with a tootsie pop and he sat really well for me and I cut it the best that I've cut it ever!  He looks like a well groomed little boy.  Well that will last until sometime tomorrow when he will inevitably get back to his little toddler dirty boy stage.

If you are reading this... I am two big glasses into the pinot grigio = random... damn that american idol!

Before

After

American idol

American Idol surprised me.  It was a really good show... there were so many performances tonight.  That was fun.  I'm excited to hear what's next from Kris.  He is very talented.  He is totally my type of music... I see myself listening to him in the car and anytime.  He is very calming.

He has a distracting mouth thing though.  So I hope he has a good cd so I don't have to watch him sing.

Ryan and Paula

I thought I would try out a new format for the blog.  I thought it was really hard to read with the black.  So here it is.

It's pretty windy today.  Just like last Wednesday.  I have softball again and we'll have to play in this heat in wind!  Talk about a Heat Wave!  Wish I was home for American Idol, although I think it's better to watch stuff on DVR that way you can fast forward through Ryan and Paula talking idiotically!

The look on his beautiful face

Sometimes I just look at the expression on Cooper's face and I want to cry.  Of course I think he's beautiful, but when I can see him experiencing something special and it shows on his face, it is amazing.  We went to the zoo yesterday and it was his first time.  We were walking by the seals and I caught this amazing expression on his face.  I'm serious, just looking at it makes me tear up. He is so excited and happy.  It's just the pleasures of parenting I guess.

Grand Slam

Wow.  Tonight was our first games of the summer softball league and let me tell you... they were not very exciting.  They were the never ending games that just dragged on and on... We ended up 30 running both teams we played tonight.  I ended up crossing the plate like 10 times just myself. The wind was amazing and crazy tonight so I won't be able to hear for the next couple of days and I hadn't ran or swung a bat in almost a year so I know I'll be sore.   But it was a tough night because we just wanted it to end.

Oh, but I did hit a Grand Slam so that was kind of exciting!  On any other team it might have been a double, but I'll take it.

It's Quite

So here's a first:  I have the house all to myself for the next hour!  I should be cleaning and cooking for Cooper's 2nd Birthday party, but instead, I'm blogging.  Oh well, I'm sure that I will be able to whip things together at the last minute-- I'm a mother for goodness sakes!  I'm used to the chaos of having a kid running around, or having my elderly parents (they're only 50) yakking in my ear, or having nate say, "come here, I want to show you something".  It's strange.
I have accomplished plenty today while everyone was around, for instance;  I made pancakes for my baby, husband, and father.  I chopped onions, red peppers, and olives for potato salad.  I mashed strawberries for dessert.  I have done two loads of laundry.  I clothed my son and got him ready to go shopping with daddy for mommy. (me, its for mother's day)  And now here I sit.  Hmm... it's weird.  I'm tempted to go and get a Chai at the local coffee shop and just sit.  But the second wind will catch and I'll get everything I need to get done.  It's just weird that I get to do it all by myself.

I think I am becoming more and more like my mom, I have the sudden urge to turn on CMT and clean.  Yikes.  Well to all you mothers and daughters of mothers, have a good day tomorrow!

Costco

So there is this thing about Costco.  I get really excited about going and thinking about everything that is there and what is going to be new.  But the excitement ends when I get to the parking lot.  The anxiety kicks in when I start thinking about the amount of money that I am going to spend compared the the amount of money that I want to save.  I also start thinking about how long I'll be in there and how long the lines will be.  Then I get in and there is so much stuff it gets overwhelming!  I want to leave about 5 minutes after stepping in the door.  It's a crazy feeling, well feelings!  But here we go again!

Duluth

Duluth is such a nice little escape from reality for the weekend.  We went up last Saturday night and stayed overnight.  Our hotel was right on Canal park.  We walked out the back of our hotel and we were on the boardwalk.  It was so nice because we didn't have to drive anywhere to do something.  Cooper wasn't feeling too well on Saturday (his golden birthday) but well enough to go for a pier walk.  Nate and I walked down to the lighthouse and lift bridge then up the streets of canal park.  We were walking for like 2 hours and it was just an amazing and relaxing night.  Cooper went to bed with no problems and slept like a champ.  We visited Enger park on our way out of town which was fun and free.  And we were home by 2:00 on Sunday afternoon.  We were gone less than 24 hours but it was such a nice breather from the regular routine.  I can't wait to do it again.  Here are some pictures from our short trip.

Tessa's first Prom

This was Tessa's first prom.  Her date was a friend and he was a nice boy.  She looked really classy and not as "prommy" as the other little girls that were there.  He hair turned out amazing!!!  Thanks to me!  (not really, I made the hair appointment!)  She had a really fun day and it was fun to share it with her.  I can't believe she's old enough to go!  Yikes.

The Kahring's got T.P.ed the night before prom.  They got the whole fence!  It must have taken forever!

Is my blog hard to read?  the black background and stuff?  I was thinking of changing it.  more reader friendly.  let me know.

What am I doing right now? Thanks for asking.

Right now I am making a Birthday Tshirt for itsy bitsy cooper.  He is going to wear it tomorrow to the family reunion.  What else?  Wishing I could be garage saling... I am going to make cupcakes for Coop and than I am going to watch Narnia 2.  Should be relaxing as long as Coop stays sleeping for awhile.  No nap tomorrow.
