Curling

Curling runs my life! My whole family curls all winter! We all look forward to it. If you haven't tried it, you should! It's so much fun and it's really quite easy. (Unless you suck, which my team and I have struggled with this year) But we have a couple of Bonspiels (curling tournaments) coming up that should be very exciting! I am posting a couple of pictures from previous spiels... enjoy. Our theme for the women's bonspiel was "Rockstar". My team was Queen!

Here we are again

Well the holidays are over for now and we are in full swing of the curling season! I love curling season! I am back at school for my 2nd to last one and last full semester on campus! We are getting ready for Jamaica in April and we are very excited. We have birthday's, anniversaries, showers, bonspiels, and wedding activities coming up in the next couple of months! It's going to be a crazy spring. Also, we are planning a summer vacation to Steam Boat Springs, CO for the 4th of July with Nate's family. That should be very exciting, yet very stressful. I hate to fly and we are planning on taking Cooper on his first plane ride... I'm nervous about it already! Oh well, it'll be fun.

Cooper is training away at the potty. This can be a very annoying process. One week he likes to wear underwear, the next week he would rather have his diapers... it's hard to adjust to unpredictability. And I really hate cleaning poop out of underwear! TMI. Oh, also something fun that we did lately with Cooper was taking him and his cousins to Sesame Street live. It was fun.

That's all for now. I like to catch up on stuff that everyone else is doing...

Begged for a grade?

Has anyone ever begged a Professor to raise their grade before? I have pleaded to both of my Professors to raise my grade by half a letter grade, but I'm not sure if I'm getting anywhere... any suggestions?

Christmas Tree Hunting

I can't help it, I really love this time of year! I love to have an excuse to shop and buy things for others that I can't really afford! I love to give gifts or happiness to those around me. I love looking for a Christmas tree in a tree lot that has fun little photo spots for the family. They also have their family dogs running around dressed as elves or whatnot... how fun is that? I love that I don't feel guilty to give Cooper a hot chocolate and not care if he spills it. I love getting Santa buttons even if you have to wait 2 hours to get one. It's just a fun time of year and it lasts for at least a month! I am excited to spend time with my family over the coming weeks and I hope to play a lot of games and drink some wine.

Wrap your head around it...

Well it's been awhile. I just had an interesting night. Why is it that when the wine is out, people become more weepy and teary? I just got into a heart to heart with my mom and her best friend about a struggle that we are trying to work through. They were both adamant about their position, but I still have a struggle with the whole thing. It's nothing serious or anything and we weren't fighting, but we just see things differently. I am coming from a very different place and it's just hard to except help when you feel like it is the selfish thing to do... the wine always contributes to tears and struggle I have found. But it also helps you express things in ways that you might not be able to other wise. I'm stressed, and my Pinot helps. (Wow, first blog back from a month and all I talk about is things that people won't understand and how beneficial wine can be! What a lush!) My mom told me tonight something that I need to consider: "Ronell, I know that you can't control your situation right now, and chances are that its not going to get better any time soon, so... you have to just wrap your head around the situation and get over it!" She's funny.

Flowers by Rocky

Hey everyone! I started a floral design blog for my mom, Rocky. It would be great if you could check it out and let us know what you think. She does flowers for weddings and other special occasions. We don't have a solid price system down, but I'm sure if she gets more business, we'll work something out. If you have anyone that you know that needs local floral design, let us know! The blog is very basic and I haven't posted many pictures on there yet. I will update it soon.

Flu

So Nate came down with the flu yesterday and I am totally baffled at what to do with Cooper. Is it too late and Cooper has already been exposed? Or can I keep them separated so Cooper doesn't get the flu? He's had the flu shot, but not the H1N1. Its making me really nervous! I just don't know what the best way to stay healthy is in this kind of situation. I got a stomach flu last year and Cooper got it right after I did. I felt horrible about it. I just hope Cooper doesn't get it!
